Srinagar, Jan 17: Three residential houses were gutted and three persons were injured when massive fire broke out from one of the houses in Watal Kadal area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Sunday.
Local sources while talking to news agency KDC said that fire broke from the house of Rouf Ahmad Dar and later engulfed at least four residential houses in it near Kanimazar area of Watal Kadal. The houses have suffered severe damages and the fire is yet to be doused off.
Sources said that three persons were injured including two men from Fire and Emergency Services and were immediately shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment. They were identified as Head Constable Firdous Ahmad, Fire man Bashir Ahmad and a local resident Shabir Gowher, sources added.
Doctor’s at SMHS confirmed that three injured persons were brought with fire injuries and all are stable and under medical treatment.
Meanwhile efforts to extinguish the fire were on both by locals and personnel from the fire and emergency department. The cause of fire break out is yet to be ascertained. (KDC)
